The Toltecs was an indigenous central American civilization closely related to the Aztecs that ruled the highlands. They were exellent craftsmen and builders. They worshiped Kukulcán.

They flourished between 10th and 12th centuries, influencing the late Maya civilization; around 1000 they refounded the city of Chichén Itzá, until they were invaded by neighboring tribes. Toltec artifacts were to be found in the Louvre.
